History
From 1948
Varova Oy was established in 1948. The company first offered services to the Finnish Post and YLE, the Finnish Broadcasting Company. Their equipment needed to be handled very carefully and that is the reason why the company was named Varova (= careful).

To years of international growth
During the 1980’s Varova grew and became strong in international transports by expanding its operations from Europe to the Far East. In the 1990’s airfreight and transit traffic to Russia grew rapidly.

Today, Varova is one of the largest privately owned Finnish companies in the international transport and forwarding business.

AEO
AEO logo csAuthorised Economic Operator (AEO) is a worldwide concept aiming to increase security in international trade. An AEO approved company has been inspected by Customs in relation to security and logistic procedures and is therefore entitled to simplified customs procedures within the entire European Union.

Varova was granted a combined Customs Simplification-Security certificate (AEO) in September 2010 which is the most comprehensive status including customs competence and logistics security aspects.

Customers will benefit from our AEO status due to fewer physical customs inspections and document checks. In addition, an AEO operator receives priority treatment of consignments if selected for controls.
